My journey into counselling didn't start in a classroom, it began with my own experiences of loss, uncertainty and life not going according to plan. Years ago, I turned to meditation as a way to create stillness during difficult times. What I found was something deeper: a gentle unfolding that helped me understand myself, navigate hardship and discover the value of being truly present, even in pain. That path through my own struggles became the foundation of everything I do today.
For 14 years, I worked with people in financial difficulty, many of them facing not only practical struggles, but the emotional pain, grief and shame that comes with job loss, redundancy, debt and life falling apart. I sat with people at their lowest points: the professional who'd just lost their career identity, the parent terrified they couldn't provide, the person grieving the future they'd planned that would never happen.
I offered not just practical guidance, but a calm, steady presence through their grief and fear. Over time, I realised these weren't just financial conversations, they were grief conversations. People were mourning lost security, lost identity, lost dreams. And I wanted to do more than help in the moment. I wanted to walk alongside people as they processed their losses, made sense of their lives, healed old wounds and found their way forward. That's what led me to specialise in grief and loss counselling.

I'm someone who is deeply committed to growth, spiritually, personally and academically. I've spent years studying, reflecting and training so that I can confidently offer support that's not just informed, but also genuinely human. This balance of inner development, lived experience and professional training gives me the best chance of being truly useful to the people I work with.
I hold a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice and I'm an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). My background also includes training in hypnotherapy and coaching approaches, plus a science-based BSc that brings a well-rounded understanding of the body and mind into my work. I continue to learn and evolve through specialist training in grief, loss and trauma, alongside mindfulness-based therapeutic approaches I've refined over 16+ years of dedicated practice.
But more than qualifications, I bring heart and real-world understanding. I know that grief isn't just about death- it's about job loss that shatters your identity, relationships that end, health that fails, futures that disappear. I understand the practical pressures that compound emotional pain: financial anxiety, workplace demands, the exhaustion of keeping up appearances while falling apart inside.
I offer a space where you can be yourself, with all your pain, confusion, anger and grief- without pressure, without judgment and without having to pretend you're "fine."
If you're looking for someone who brings both professional expertise and genuine understanding born from lived experience, I'm here to support you...calmly, openly and with care.

During my 100-hour clinical placement at a local hospice, I gained hands-on experience supporting individuals through intense and overwhelming emotions linked to loss. I provided face-to-face, online, and telephone support to those processing grief related to the death of a loved one, as well as complex losses such as divorce, health changes, and major life transitions.
Grief is not just about loss—it involves deep and often disruptive emotions. These emotions echo many of the feelings people experience in counselling, such as:
This experience deepened my understanding of how loss affects emotional state, sense of self, relationships, and daily functioning. The intensity of grief often mirrors the challenges people face in therapy—like anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or trauma. Through grief counselling, I’ve developed the skills to help clients navigate both the pain of loss and the underlying emotions that often bring them to therapy.
